Founded in 2021, SunBear Montessori was built on the belief that children flourish when Montessori principles meet the living world. We see nature not as a backdrop, but as a teacher — guiding every lesson in patience, care, and discovery. Our classrooms nurture independence and focus, while our garden and permaculture system connect children to real cycles of life and growth.

More than ever, children need balance — a calm, purposeful environment where hands, hearts, and minds work together. Our programme blends authentic Montessori education with meaningful engagement with nature, fostering curiosity, empathy, and responsibility. Through this harmony of structure and exploration, we aim to raise confident, mindful individuals who respect themselves, others, and the world around them — a childhood truly rooted in nature.

Facilitator

At SunBear Montessori, our educators serve as guides, not instructors. We prepare the environment, offer purposeful choices, and gently support each child’s journey of discovery. Rather than directing outcomes, we facilitate learning through curiosity, independence, and respect. Children are free to explore, repeat, and refine — while we provide encouragement and meaningful invitations to learn, both indoors and in nature.

Observer

Observation is at the heart of Montessori practice. Our educators step back to give children the space to act, think, and explore at their own pace. Through quiet observation, we understand each child’s interests, sensitivities, and learning rhythm. These insights allow us to refine the environment and plan experiences that meet the child’s evolving needs — ensuring growth is natural, not forced.
